It’s a debate that’s heard quite often. Are prisons really doing what they are supposed to be doing, which is rehabilitating people, and making them better people when they come out. Preparing them for an honest, law abiding life in the real world, once they are released from prison.
Is it even possible that after spending years with other criminals, people can be rehabilitated and then can function properly when released.
When you hear about this particular prisoner, you can decide for yourself whether or not prison has rehabilitated him. One example isn’t enough to judge the entire system on. There is no clear and easy solution on how to best deal with people who break laws.
